Joe Morello, Dave Brubek's drummer for 12 1/2 years, recently died at the age of 82. He was konwn for his unusual time signatures. Wrote books on drum technique including "Master Studies" and made an instructional video for Hot Licks called "Natural Approach to Technique". Recipient of Hudson Music's first Teacher Integration Program Lifetime Achievement award in June 2010.

Bossa-Kayo. Kayo is "Japanese Pop" in retro lingo. Ruriko Asaoka is a Japanese actress that was born in China. One of the first glamourous stars of Japan in the 1960s and 70s.

21) Dorothy Ashby-- "The Moving Finger" The Rubaiyat of Dorothy Ashby
A Rubaiyat is a collection of ruba'i, a form of Persian poetry. Best known example: the rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. 2 lines long, rhyme in the middle and the end of the lines. Dorothy Ashby is from Chicago. Her albums are released on Cadet records but are extremely rare.
